Ingredients

  • 1 (8-10 lb) unit spiral-cut ham
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern to allow the glaze to soak in.
  3. Place the ham in a large roasting pan and cover it loosely with foil.
  4. Bake the ham for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  5. While the ham is baking, prepare the glaze: in a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup honey, ¼ cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, and 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar.
  6. After 1.5 hours, remove the foil and brush the ham generously with the glaze.
  7. Return the ham to the oven, uncovered, and continue baking for another 30 minutes, basting with glaze every 10 minutes.
  8. Once done, let the ham rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Bone-In vs. Boneless: This recipe works best with a bone-in spiral ham for the juiciest results, but you can use boneless if preferred—just adjust the cooking time accordingly.
Make Ahead Tip: You can prepare the glaze up to 3 days in advance and refrigerate it. Just reheat slightly before applying to the ham.
Leftover Ideas: Use leftovers in sandwiches, omelets, breakfast hash, or dice it for soups and casseroles.
Optional Add-Ons: Stud the ham with whole cloves before glazing for a more traditional holiday flavor.
Glaze Variations: Add orange juice or pineapple juice to the glaze for a citrusy twist. You can also use maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper sweetness.
Serving Suggestion: Pairs wonderfully with scalloped potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, or a fresh green salad.
