Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern to allow the glaze to soak in.
- Place the ham in a large roasting pan and cover it loosely with foil.
- Bake the ham for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- While the ham is baking, prepare the glaze: in a small bowl, whisk together ½ cup honey, ¼ cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, and 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar.
- After 1.5 hours, remove the foil and brush the ham generously with the glaze.
- Return the ham to the oven, uncovered, and continue baking for another 30 minutes, basting with glaze every 10 minutes.
- Once done, let the ham rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Bone-In vs. Boneless: This recipe works best with a bone-in spiral ham for the juiciest results, but you can use boneless if preferred—just adjust the cooking time accordingly.
Make Ahead Tip: You can prepare the glaze up to 3 days in advance and refrigerate it. Just reheat slightly before applying to the ham.
Leftover Ideas: Use leftovers in sandwiches, omelets, breakfast hash, or dice it for soups and casseroles.
Optional Add-Ons: Stud the ham with whole cloves before glazing for a more traditional holiday flavor.
Glaze Variations: Add orange juice or pineapple juice to the glaze for a citrusy twist. You can also use maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper sweetness.
Serving Suggestion: Pairs wonderfully with scalloped potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, or a fresh green salad.
