Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until smooth and creamy.
Add Eggs and Bananas:
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring just until the batter is combined. If using, fold in the chopped walnuts or chocolate chips.
Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool:
Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
